The Conway Family

Some of you might remember the shoot I did with the Conways when I was in Colorado last fall… It has always been one of my faves. I just absolutely adore this family. Andrea and Neil are so authentic in their love for each other, in their sense of humor…. in everything. I love that Andrea rocks a pixie cut and looks incredibly naturally gorgeous doing it. I love that their oldest son Tristan is such a charmer, with big puppy-dog brown eyes and long eyelashes and a toothy grin. I love Andrea and Neil’s style of parenting– go with the flow, while always maintaining some level of control. And now, they have two brand new family members, twins Ian and Finn. Three little boys! I can’t even imagine. But Andrea and Neil have handled it all with such grace and calm that I can’t help but be in awe.

So I present to you…. the Conways!

Meet Ian and Finn! First of all… their onesies. Are they not the cutest ever?! Andrea’s sister bought these for the boys, and I just think they’re perfect. I love to photograph babies as naturally as possible. No Anne Geddes-style posing with props and costumes, just in their own comfortable, simple way. When I think about those kinds of trends in newborn photography, I can’t help but giggle because I automatically think of the episode of The Office where Angela and Andy take Jan’s baby into the breakroom and set her on a bed of fruits and vegetables on the table so Angela can take pictures of it with her point-and-shoot. Yeah, it’s a little ridiculous. :)

And here they are with their big brother Tristan! I’m going to die of the cuteness, seriously. He’s gonna be such a good big brother.

Can you even stand it?!!

Andrea’s mom, “Neannie,” was able to come stay with them for a whole month during and after the birth of the babies. I’m sure this was such an amazing and special time for them, and I know they definitely appreciated having an extra set of hands around. So of course we had to get some shots with Neannie in them!

Super love this one. Seriously, are they not the most adorable parents of three young boys EVER? :)

And now for the slideshow! Neil requested that I use Dave Matthews Band’s “You & Me.” He told me that he had made a mix for Andrea while she was in the hospital, and this was the song that was playing when Finn and Ian took their first breaths. Um, excuse me while I reach for AN ENTIRE BOX OF TISSUES! I was, obviously, more than happy to oblige his request, and even though I’ve never been a huge DMB fan, I happen to think it’s a pretty perfect fit. :) Enjoy!
