It’s no secret: I love color.
The first chance I got to decorate my bedroom the way I wanted growing up, I chose the brightest shade of aqua I could find. My T-shirt collection looks like it belongs in Rainbow Brite’s closet. And my car? It’s LIME GREEN.
But I also love colorful people, and I feel so fortunate to be making a living capturing their colorful lives.
I’ve gotten to shoot weddings in all sorts of places, from dinosaur museums, caves, and concert venues, to country clubs, plantation homes, ballrooms, and the beach. Wedding photography has taken me everywhere, from Los Angeles to Portland to Salt Lake City to Vermont, and of course all over the South and here in my hometown of Birmingham, Alabama. I’ve shot ceremonies in many faiths and traditions, from Catholic to Buddhist to Mormon to Southern Baptist to non-denominational to Quaker. And if it sounds like my clients can often be pretty different from each other…. well, they are! I love that about them. But no matter their traditions or style or beliefs, they all have one thing in common: they love life, they love their significant other, and they want to have FUN on their wedding day.
The good news is, as your wedding photographer, I get to have fun with you on one of the happiest days of your life! I can’t tell you how incredible it is that I get to witness and document your love, your relationships, your traditions, your style. And because every couple is so different, I try to be as unobtrusive as possible when I shoot. You won’t see me recreating fake moments “just to get a photo of it.” I pride myself on capturing those real, candid slices of life, and I’ll never try to alter them. That’s why you also won’t see super weird and funky editing on my photographs. I want to present moments as they were, not try to turn them into an art school project. I’m all about being creative and fresh in the way that I shoot, but I also want your images to stand the test of time. I want to get the kinds of portraits that your grandmother is proud to display, in addition to the ones that YOU want.
Since we’ll be spending one of the most important days of your lives together, there are a few things you should know about me: I love mint chocolate, stripes, anything French, Target, sleeping with two fans on, The Wonder Years, Chick-fil-a nuggets with Polynesian sauce, my hound dog Gretchen, vintage shops, drinking lots and lots of 2% milk, Dolly Parton, and reading in bed at night. I love laughing and telling cheesy jokes to make YOU laugh (hopefully). Also, I’m really short, and you’ll probably tell me that if you ever meet me in person, and I’m totally fine with it. :)

I would hire you for that Wonder Years picture alone. :)
My fiancee thinks I’m the only person in the universe who leaves half an inch of milk (or juice, or tea…) languishing in the bottom of my glass for days. Glad to know I’m not alone!
